Working with Clients

This is Eliana and she is really good at selecting secret locations that other people don’t even know about. I have to be honest, when I heard the location I was skeptical; however, I am a firm believer in working WITH clients and I can make great photos anywhere. In a pinch, I can make a parking lot work but it obviously isn’t ideal. Listening to a clients needs and wants is very important to me and frankly, they often suggest the best locations. I have a firm policy against photographing people in the same old places and I’m always up for an adventure! We ended up at a special spot on the Spokane river that had significance to her family and it was so terrific. It was a great location, with a spot by the river, a huge tree, and a wide open field with sweeping sky views.

The Right Fit

If you didn’t get a chance to read that article, then I would recommending popping over there, it will be really helpful. Photographers are not all the same, we don’t possess the same level of skill, talent, or vision. Make sure you choose one that sees eye to eye with you.

Why It Works

This session works because the location provided comfort and joy for this senior. Because it was a secret location, there was very little traffic. Not only was Eliana dressed well for her shape, she is a dancer who knows how to hold her hands and feet in an elegant way. Hands and feet are a tell tale sign in photographs of comfort level.

Chose Your Wardrobe

One of the best ways to get really great senior portraits is selecting the right wardrobe. I recommend at least three outfits that are flattering, fit well, and demonstrate your personality. As you can see, we have plenty of time for multiple clothing changes during our senior session. Eliana followed my senior portrait dressing suggestions perfectly.
